Perfect Partnership

Starting out as a night shelter in Soho London, Centrepoint’s work with young people has evolved beyond all recognition over the last 50 years. It now has over 60 accommodation services across London, Manchester, Sunderland and Yorkshire.

The youth homelessness charity supports over 2,000 young people every day through its floating support, rough sleeping and resettlement services.

Back in December 2023, Centrepoint reached out to Operations Director Dale Vicker to see if VA could assist in finding employment for one of the young people they support.

The young person successfully completed a month of Concierge duties through to January, covering staff holidays. Through VA Cleans recommendations, introductions and working closely with Centrepoint, the young person attended several interviews and secured a permanent Concierge position in a high end city centre apartment complex.

Dale Vicker said:
The young person impressed us from the start! He was smart, punctual and eager to work. We had no hesitation in hiring him for the month, where he more than proved himself. We are delighted he has now secured a permanent contract, which he deserves. We will definitely be working closely with Centrepoint again on future positions and projects.

The young person is now looking for his own private tenancy and we wish him all the best.
